SA No. 154
Breepeulvalsdoring / Broadpod false-thorn
These beautiful trees are found in the North eastern side of South Africa, and in contrast to their Mountain false thorn cousins, they prefer sandy soil instead of rocky hills. They have especially broad flat pods, which the name is also derived from. No thorns.
When bearing flowers, look out for insect eating birds like Glossy starlings, Bee eaters, Lilac-breasted roller and Fork tailed drongos.
