The Afrikaans name of these stunning bushes or small trees says it all – they are on fire when in flower! In places where they grow in abundance the bunches of red flowers make it look like the field is on fire. Absolutely breath-taking and a sight to remember. The English name come from an area in Mpumalanga, South Africa called De Kaap – where these plants grows in abundance. They tend to grow into a bush, but can be pruned into a neat shaped tree or plant for garden purposes. Easy to grow and quick to flower.
