SA No. 219
Geelkeur / Golden-pea
Very impressive when covered in bunches of pea-like yellow flowers and breath-taking when standing in the bush amongst other paler trees. These pretty trees are found all over Africa and even in India, they flower from a young age and are often used as garden and street trees.
Visited by many insects when in flower. Look out for various insect eating birds during this time, and a real asset for birds lovers in any garden for this reason. Fork tailed drongos, Bulbuls and Flycatchers are some of the regular visitors.
Dassies and Klipspringers will eat the flowers and flower buds.
